Usually when someone says "...Oh, interesting! Usually when someone says "Christian fiction" or "Christian fantasy," they seem to be stumped after suggesting C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien. I think Ben Hatke's graphic novels (middle school age) would also be a good fit.
