In which secret plans are revealed.

Hi readers!

I have 2 huge things to tell you about. Both are events I've been planning for, and I hope some of you will be interested.
Without further ado...

R.M.S. Titanic, 1912 #1. A series of posts all about the R.M.S. Titanic! Did you know this is the centennial year for the Titanic's sinking? It has been 100 years since the tragic accident---or rather, it will be 100 years, as of April 15th. I've been researching and studying a lot about the Titanic lately, and I will be putting together a number of posts about all the amazing details I have found. It is quite fascinating once you get involved! Starting on March 31st, I'll start a day-to-day posting about facts, important dates, passengers, and interesting things about the Titanic. I look forward to hearing all your thoughts on it too.

Summer reading challenge: Louisa May Alcott #2. A Louisa May Alcott reading challenge! Do you have any plans for your summer reading yet? I have mine planned out... and I don't really think it's too-too early to be getting my summer reading list into order, is it? Starting in May, I'll tell you all the specifics of the Louisa May Alcott challenge, but I thought I'd introduce the idea now. I'm hoping some of my fellow bookworms will join me!!

So, those are a couple blog ideas I'm quite excited about, and currently working on. Leave a comment to let me know what you think... Which one are you anticipating the most?

  1. Both sound equally interesting! I'm sure my brother will enjoy the posts on the Titanic. That's his favorite thing to research. I can't wait to find out more about the reading challenge. It already sounds intriguing. :)

  4. Wow, sounds GREAT Tarissa! :D I love your idea's - can't wait to read your posts about the Titanic {my dad's been a huge "fan" and really has been interested in the Titanic for many years}. ;)

Exciting as well about your summer reading challenge idea! I'm not sure if I'll join yet or not, we'll have to see in May, but it sounds great! She's one of my favorite authoress' so I'm sure all those who join will really have a wonderful time reading through her books. :D

    Love and Blessings!

  5. I'm looking forward to the Titanic, because I've already read all of Miss Alcott's books, and, well, I rarely re-read.

  6. I think both sound wonderful! I don't even know that I've read an Alcott book. That is so sad, I know! And it is never to early to start planning summer reading. I have some thick books planned!

I love anything about the Titanic. Did you know a new miniseries is going to air on April 14th and April 15th on ABC? I can't remember who was the brains behind it, but I think it previously aired in the UK. I've seen the trailer for it and it looks really good.

  8. Your Titanic event sounds quite interesting, Tarissa. Since you have such a facination with this specific period, I would suggest visiting an event blog I host with my sister, Bree. It's called Unsinkable, and we feature monthly Titanic-related giveaways, a total of 100 random facts about the Titanic, guest posts relating to fashions during the early 1900s, and other such things that might appeal to you. Here's the link: 365daysoftitanic.blogspot.com. Our site has been up since April 2011 and will officially close on April 14th, 2012 with the release of my historical fiction book about the Titanic, Violets Are Blue.

I hope you understand that I am not in any way trying to "advertise" on your site, but only thought this specific event might be the sort of thing you would enjoy. :) Let me know if you have any questions; I'm always willing to answer them.

    Have a lovely afternoon!
