2018 Reading Stats

Just popping in once more to have a chat about book stats. (I hope this is my last post talking about 2018. Soon I'll get on to talking about newer stuff than last year!) ;)

So? How many books did you read in 2018?

I've just finished tallying up my reads... I closed out the year with 135 books!

Here's a peek at the formats of books that I read last year...

Why, ALMOST half my books are audio now. Goodness, I wonder what next year's chart will look like.

And here's a look back across my last decade of reading... just because.

Obviously, I've consistently read MORE each year as time matches on!

Tell me a little bit about your reading totals!

Is your 2019 reading plan different from your 2018 strategy?

  1. I read a total of 73 books in 2018. I did not keep track of the media type, but I'd have to say more than half were audio. I alternated between fiction and non fiction.

    1. That's an awesome amount of books, Jenny! I'm always glad to find out about other audiobook listeners in the world, like you and me. It becomes a lifestyle choice at some point, and a really good one, I'd say.

  2. I love looking at my books stats, I can assess my quality, where I need work or just rejoice at my growth. I tend to use paper though, so don't really look at that much. I think I read one ebook and listened to two audiobooks.

  3. Happy 2019! I haven't tried audiobooks yet, but I do have one here to try. I read 117 books in 2018, though some were picture books and I usually read these a few times before writing reviews if I loved them.

    1. You got to read a lot in 2018 too! Good for you, Danielle. Definitely, I encourage you to try a few audiobooks this year... I love listening to a book in the mornings while I'm getting ready for the day. I always think it helps to stimulate the brain.

  4. I haven't tallied my reading yet but I probably should when I find out where my notebook is with the list of them. It's been misplaced in the post Christmas tidying up.

  7. I made it to 92 books which is good for me because I almost doubled my volunteering commitments this year. 🙌🙌🙌

I am reading a lot via audiobook now, too! My sister begged me for years to try them, and in 2017 I did, and I love them. They are great for multi-tasking. 👍✨

Here's to a wonderful year in reading in 2019. 🎉

    1. La La in the Library,
That's awesome that you read so many last year.

Audiobooks have improved my reading life so much, it's ridiculous. Without them... I'd have only conquered about half the books that I did. Yes, they're amazing for multi-tasking.

  8. Outside of how many books I read, I don't really track any other reading stats. After seeing several posts that showed all sorts of stats I think I might try this year. See what I read in December at Girl Who Reads

  9. 135 books is awesome! My reading habits have also gone up each year and I'm trying new genres to me. I'm finding that I'm enjoying thrillers and rekindling my love of mysteries too.

  10. I love numbers! Seeing reading stats is one of my favorite things! Lol. And I love that you included how many books you finished each year in the last decade--very cool! Now I'm wondering what my graph would look like 🤔 lol.
